NEPA DSA’s Annual Chapter Convention is Nov 16! 

Monday November 16 @ 6:00 p.m. at the UU Church in Wyoming PA is our Annual Convention!

Q: What is an Annual Chapter Convention?
NEPA DSA’s Annual Chapter Convention is the biggest meeting we host all year! We have food, drinks, chats, and casual getting to know our fellow socialists! We elect Chapter Officers, vote on Proposals, and democratically decide our budget for 2027!

Q: What Chapter Officers Are We Electing?
NEPA DSA has 5 Officers that run the important day-to-day tasks of our Chapter. We have two Co-Chairs who are jacks-of-all-trades, a Secretary that handles notes and communication, a Treasurer handles finances, and a Membership Coordinator who is the first point of contact with members!

Q: Who is Eligible to Vote?
Anyone who has been a DSA member for at least 30 days can vote!

Q: Who Can Run for Chapter Office?
Anyone who has been a DSA member for at least 30 days can run! If you want to nominate someone to be on the ballot, all you have to do is say so! You can, and are encouraged to, nominate yourself!

Q: How Do We Democratically Decide Our Budget?
This will be new for this Annual Convention. We all vote on how to split Chapter finances among our Working Groups, average all the votes together, and that’s our budget! We don’t know of any other DSA chapter who budgets this way and we’re excited to try it out!

Q: How Do We Vote for Offiers?
It’s a hybrid vote using OpaVote that is open for 48 hours. We use ranked choice voting called Scottish STV. You will receive an email to the email address you used to register for DSA and it will have a link to vote. All results are public and will be available the day after the Convention
